Meets the 1st Monday of each month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC
Breast cancer is now experienced by one in every seven women. Unique problems are encountered in women confront with this diagnosis. Uplift was organized in December 1990, and the first meetings began in February of 1991.
Uplift is a community of women who have a common bond and believe a “problem shared is divided, a show shared is doubled.” Concerns can be less difficult when shared with those who have been there. Following an educational opportunity, we divide into small groups to discuss/share our concerns.
Objectives:
- Provide an opportunity for sharing.
- Provide resources/assistance to other women with breast cancer.
- Keep updated on issues, concerns and new therapies related to breast cancer.
- Encourage association among women with similar situations.
- Encourage women to actively participate in decisions regarding women and breast cancer on a local and national level.
