New Patients
Dear Patient,
Welcome to Cancer Centers of the Carolinas. During your first visit, you will meet your oncologist and other members of your medical team, as well as learn about your treatment options. It is common to feel anxious about your first visit; we encourage you to bring a family member or friend with you. Our care team at Cancer Centers of the Carolinas will do everything we can to make you comfortable. We will spend time thoroughly explaining your diagnosis and treatment options.
When you arrive, you will find convenient parking and easy access into our center, where you will be greeted by warm and friendly people ready to help you.
Appointment
Please plan to spend an hour or more with us during your first appointment, which may include:
- A meeting and evaluation with your oncologist;
- Tests needed for an accurate diagnosis and staging of your cancer that will guide your treatments;
- A meeting with your nurse and other members of your medical team;
- A meeting with your financial counselor to discuss your insurance and billing.
Medications
Please bring a list of all current medications with you to your visits. Please include over the counter and herbal drugs. In lieu of a list, you may bring your medication bottles.
Insurance Information
Please bring your most recent insurance card(s). If you have secondary and tertiary insurance, please bring those insurance cards with you as well.
Forms
During your first visit, you will be asked to complete several forms. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete these forms.
