Fox received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She also completed the Cancer Chemotherapy Program at Wake Forest University Medical Center. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has more than 12 years nursing experience.

As a registered nurse, Fox worked in emergency/trauma care and women’s health. Her experience includes precepting nursing and paramedic students and working as a charge nurse.
