CCC holds second annual bachelor auction
Elizabeth Williamson

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 - Greenville, S.C. – Cancer Centers of the Carolinas (CCC) will hold their second annual bachelor auction Friday, April 16, 2010. The purpose of the event, which will take place at Wild Wing Cafe on West Washington Street in downtown Greenville, is to raise money for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

The bachelors on the auction block will range in age from 18 to 50 years old and include local celebrity bachelor “Nine” from The Rise Guys morning show. Bidding starts at $25. Each winning bidder receives one free date with the bachelor. Rose Birckbichler and DJ Blake will serve as the event emcees and auctioneers.

“It’s always a challenge to come up with new ideas to raise money for Relay, so I’m really excited about doing this event again this year,” said Birckbichler. “Hopefully we’ll be able to raise a lot of money and do this for the third time next year.”

The auction will begin at 7 p.m. with a time for ladies to meet and mingle with the bachelors. CCC will donate 100 percent of the money raised at the auction to the Greenville Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is a community-based event with 3.5 million people participating each year. Participating teams collect donations to help fight cancer and raise awareness for cancer prevention and treatment. (Visit www.cancer.org for more information on Relay for Life dates and locations.)
