May 20, 2006 - Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Cancer Centers of the Carolinas sponsored 5 teams - Greenville Relay, Greer Relay, Pickens Relay, Spartanburg Relay and Oconee County Relay. We were thrilled to see so many of our employees and patients and this great event.
At the Greenville Relay, we had a fabulous fundraiser. Two of our employees, Rose Porter and Colleen Morosey, decided to raise money to SHAVE THEIR HEADS in support of all cancer patients. They raised over $1000! Thank you Colleen and Rose. Those people who witnessed the event will never forget your amazing selfless attitudes.

Also at the Greenville Relay, Melissa McKay and several other people attending the event donated 10” of their hair to Locks for Love. Locks for Love makes wigs for people who lose their hair due to cancer treatments. Thank you Melissa!
